Dear Friends,

Something special happens when we review God’s wonderful deeds on our behalf. Reflecting on the ways He has worked in the past provides tremendous encouragement for today, and it also grants hope for tomorrow. So, I’m overjoyed to share this recap of God’s movement in and through Proclaiming Him to Women in 2024. Praise His matchless name! And thank you for remaining such a valuable part of this ministry…

The Glory of Jesus: Merciful

“Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.’” (Hebrews 2:17, KJV).

God made Jesus like us. This astounding truth evidences God’s merciful heart, proving He cares compassionately for each of us. Our Savior didn’t enter earth solely as God—He came wrapped in flesh and blood. Fully God and fully Man, the Lord Jesus Christ completely understands our experience.

Jesus knew the limitations and endurance of wearing a human body. He also weathered the emotional and mental aspects of humanity. As for His spiritual wellbeing, Jesus demonstrated dependence on His Father, and their intimate relationship enables us to recognize our need for the same.

Hebrews 2:7 clarifies that because Jesus was like us, He is a merciful and faithful high priest. And oh, how His mercy resonates with me right now. The Lord knows we’re human. He understands our frailties. He realizes our tendency to fail. Yet in every sin we commit, He is merciful. Praise His matchless name.

Through His body, Jesus provided the means for us to be eternally reconciled to God.

Please pray as I have eight devotions due January 15, 2025. Due to the busyness detailed above, I’ve struggled to write these pieces. I often get stressed and try to write in my own strength—despite past experience that this does not work! I appreciate your prayers as I seek to rely on the Holy Spirit once again, trusting HE will give every edifying word.

Until Next Time

May the joy of Jesus’ birth capture your heart all throughout the Christmas season. And may the love He IS embrace you in new ways.
