My sweet girl is married! God blessed us with a beautiful, joyful day on September 21, and I treasure every precious memory. I’ll never forget the marvelous ways our Lord demonstrated His love. Before I get to the latest with Proclaiming Him to Women, here’s a little snapshot of our bride and groom plus a photo from Chloe’s portrait session:
The Glory of Jesus: Alpha & Omega
“And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.” Revelation 21:6, KJV
As you know, Hurricane Helene recently tore through parts of the United States, including Western North Carolina, where I live. Our home is located in the foothills vicinity, however, which wasn’t damaged as horribly as the mountain areas. God marvelously protected Mark, me, and all our family as well as our property. I’m incredibly grateful. We never really lost power, and the internet was restored after a couple days.
Scenes from places like Asheville, Chimney Rock, and elsewhere bring tears to my eyes. And as I write, I hear helicopters that undoubtedly are traveling to help the stranded and suffering. Please continue to pray for everyone impacted by this horrific hurricane. May God sustain the survivors and strengthen the rescuers. Thank you so very much.
In the midst of all this tragedy, I trust Jesus’ declaration, “I am Alpha and Omega,” will comfort our hearts. He remains the beginning and end of all time, and He stands on either side of this heartbreaking event. His guidance, His help, and His strength will meet each person where they’re at … if only they’ll ask. In Jesus’ name, our Heavenly Father hears every earnest prayer. He also answers because He is faithful.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
Something New
Over the past year or so, my bi-monthly blog posts have formed my series, Preparing the Bride. But beginning this November, I plan to transition into a new series: Prayer Starters. Each blog post will correspond to a printable prayer guide, which will focus on a different theme each time.

Speaking of prayer and help, I could use yours as I pursue a prayer team for Proclaiming Him to Women. This annual commitment begins October 2024 and ends in September 2025, and it involves the following:
- Subscribing to my Heart Stirrings Blog (see below), reading my bi-monthly ministry updates, and praying for the requests specified in the update. (I will put these prayers and praises in bold print.) Whether you pray about these needs on a certain day of every week or even daily, I value your prayer support of this ministry. It is vital.
- In addition to the above, you will be included on Prayer Team Emails concerning special requests throughout the year. These communications will only be sent if needs arise outside of my bi-monthly ministry updates.

Indestructible Life
Clearly, my re-launch didn’t occur in September. And honestly, I’ve been struggling with exactly how to implement the information I learned at the BRMCWC this past May. So, if you think of me and this particular aspect of ministry, please pray for God’s direction. I need His wisdom and guidance regarding the best way and time to restart these broadcasts. Thank you so much.
Homelife Magazine
It turned out that my latest article appeared in the September 2024 issue rather than August. I trust the Lord is using this message for His purposes, and I continue to value reaching people through this magazine. It’s a blessing to know the words God gives me are nourishing hearts as the Spirit leads. Praise the Lord for this wonderful opportunity.
Journey Magazine
My next set of devotions is scheduled to appear in the Spring 2025 issue, and as with Homelife, I highly value reaching readers through this publication. It brings me tremendous joy to be used by the Lord in this way. He is so good to provide ministry avenues for each of us.
