CREATOR, GRATEFUL, A HUGE OPPORTUNITY, & MORE
Join Emily Wickham to learn more about the Lord our Creator, the new Lifeway Women study, Grateful, and a huge opportunity God has provided. #gratefulbiblestudy #Creator Share on XDear Readers,
Today stands out because it’s my beloved husband’s birthday! Though he’s now at work, we enjoyed spending the morning together … at the DMV. Of all places! But he needed to renew his license, and we felt glad simply to be with one another. Then we feasted at a cute pizzeria that turned out better than Mark wished. God is so good.
Today also holds significance in my writing journey. Please continue reading to learn more…
The Glory of Jesus: Creator
“All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being” (John 1:3, NASB).
As one who connects words in an effort to communicate truth in a compelling manner, I’m awed by God’s creativity. He’s the ultimate wordsmith, overflowing with wise and wondrous words that meet our deepest needs. And as Creator of all, He’s so much more.
The Lord created everything in existence—including you and me. He carefully planned every person, creature, and thing. Crafting every detail in precision, He formed mankind and spoke the rest into being. God our Creator is absolutely amazing.
Last night I viewed the beginning of a nature program, and the splendor within the sea demonstrates the Lord’s extraordinary creativity … His love for beauty … His ability to accomplish all He determines to do.
My prayer today is that the Lord will grow our awareness of His power to speak His desires into reality. What are you longing for Him to create/re-create in your heart and life? He can. May His desires be yours.
Grateful
Today marks the release of Grateful: Giving Thanks to God in All Things. And I’m thrilled! Contributing to this Bible study continues to fill me with gratitude. May God use this book in mighty ways, equipping readers to practice gratitude in increasing measure.

I’d also be most grateful if you let your friends know about this new Bible study. Maybe it will be just what they/their women’s group is looking for. Thank you so much!
Book Proposal
I continue to wait for a response to my Acts Bible study proposal, and I value your prayers. Thanks so much.
Homelife
I also await a reply about the article I submitted at the Write to Publish Conference. As for my Bible prophecy article, it remains in partial form. Your prayers for both of these items remain appreciated.
A Huge Opportunity!!!
On July 18, the marketing strategist for Lifeway Women asked me to do an Instagram Live video. And I said yes! So Lord willing, I’ll be giving a brief devotional on November 7 related to the day of study I wrote for Grateful. I’ll be sharing this on the Lifeway Women account, so if you’re on Instagram and would like to join me, please follow @lifewaywomen.
Again, God is amazing – glory to His mighty name.
Indestructible Life
Wow—God enabled me to complete Season Two this past Tuesday. Bible teaching can be hard work as far as message preparation, but at the same time, I love it. It’s so worth it, especially because God’s Word never returns void:
“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11, NKJV).
I also started something new for my podcast: corresponding blog posts. If you’re interested in listening to/reading the latest episodes, please click below:
- When It Is Hard to Believe (Lazarus: Sick, Dead, Alive – 7.11.23)
- Fulfilling Your Purpose (John the Baptist: Witness, Voice, Friend – 7.25.23)
For Season Three, I’m contemplating a collection of shorter messages on various topics. Please pray with me for the Spirit’s leading. Thank you! And of course, I’m pleased for you to tune in whenever you’re able.
Topics of Interest
Do you wonder about the meaning of a certain Bible verse or passage? Are you curious about a specific biblical topic? If so, please reply to this email and let me know. I might not know the answer, but I’ll gladly seek the Lord about it. If the Spirit leads, I’ll offer whatever input He provides. And who knows? Perhaps your question will show up on Indestructible Life or elsewhere. I’ll let you know should that happen 😊.
Until Next Time
May the beauty of God’s creation—on earth and in you—delight your soul. Most of all, may our magnificent Creator captivate your heart.
In Christ’s Love,
Scripture about our awesome Creator
Psalm 104:1-9, 24-25, 31-34 NASB
Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty, Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain. He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind; He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers. He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters were standing above the mountains. At Your rebuke they fled, At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away. The mountains rose; the valleys sank down To the place which You established for them. You set a boundary that they may not pass over, So that they will not return to cover the earth…
O Lord, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; The earth is full of Your possessions. There is the sea, great and broad, In which are swarms without number, Animals both small and great…
Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; Let the Lord be glad in His works; He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke. I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.”
Congratulations and know that I continue to pray Ms. Emily. God’s will and timing my friend.
Hi, J.D.,
Your prayers are effective! Thank you, and glory to God.
In Christ’s Love,
