Mercy + An Exciting Addition!
Dear Readers,
We live in a marvelous time. Although the world shakes with uncertainties and the life we used to know exists no more, God is good. JESUS promised to return for us so we can be with Him where He is. We can trust Him to keep His word:
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3, NASB).
Praise the Lord for His faithful love.
Now I invite you into a recap of God’s doings in and through PHtW this past month…
THE GLORY OF JESUS: MERCY
“But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Ephesians 2:4-5, NASB).
“For judgment will be merciless to one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13).
Praise God for His matchless mercy. Instead of condemning us to hell for our sins, He sent JESUS, His only beloved Son, to pay the price for us through His death on the cross. And because Christ rose from the grave, defeating sin and death, God makes us alive in Christ by virtue of our faith in Him.
What a wondrous God HE is.
In turn, God desires us to show mercy. We’re all sinners, and when we extend compassion toward one another, the Lord is pleased. For in this way, we demonstrate the living Christ in us. Allowing His mercy to flow through us when we’re wronged reveals Christ’s victory in greater measure. And it surely is beautiful.
Who can benefit from your compassion today?
LIFEWAY BIBLE STUDY
To God be the glory! I completed my lesson and submitted it to my editor on September 2. The Lord taught me so much as I prayed, studied, and wrote. He revealed precious truths about the Bible chapters I covered, so they’ll hold special significance to me from now on. I’m thankful I completed this assignment, I’m grateful for the way God shaped my words, and I’m excited about how He’ll use this study in women’s hearts.
Thank you so much for your valuable prayers. God answered in amazing ways.
HOMELIFE
Well, I heard from my editor unexpectedly, and he requested an article I pitched last December. I accepted, and it’s a good thing I already finished my Bible study assignment (mentioned above) since this article is due October 1. Whew! It wasn’t in my plans for this fall, but God had it arranged all along.
Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s leading as I write—may the words flow with ease. Thank you!
AN EXCITING ADDITION
I’ve considered starting a podcast for quite some time, and God is encouraging me to take a leap of faith. I’m gonna go for it!
So Lord willing… I’ll be airing my first episode on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, and I hope you’ll tune in. (If you’re one of my blog subscribers, a link to listen will be available in my e-mail the same night.)
Please join me in exploring stories of Bible people and discovering more about God and ourselves along the way.
Hopefully this exciting addition to my ministry will appeal to you and numerous others. You can listen while you drive to/from work, while you work around your home, etc. And if you’re blessed by the content, please tell others so they can be blessed, too. Thank you in advance!
I value your prayers for this monthly ministry venture—may it bear lots of spiritual fruit. I’d also appreciate your prayers as I determine a podcast name and attend to all the production aspects. They feel a bit overwhelming. Thank you so much.
BLOG CHANGES
Due to the addition of a podcast, I will no longer write a blog post on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Instead, I’ll share a podcast episode every fourth Tuesday, and I’ll post the link right here on Heart Stirrings. I’ll also continue to write ministry updates on the second Tuesday of each month.
(NOTE: I’ll be taking a blogging break on September 27, so please look for my next e-mail on October 11.)
UNTIL NEXT TIME
“For yet in a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay” (Hebrews 10:37).
