Life Isn’t Easy … But God

And He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD.”

Deuteronomy 8:3, NASB

When everything is easy, we tend to forget … take for granted … think we’re in control.

Yet God has a way of getting our attention. He intervenes on our behalf, sometimes introducing a test. It doesn’t feel good, but God uses each trial to help us grow spiritually … to make us more Christlike.

In the Israelites’ case, they wandered for 40 years in the wilderness. When hunger reverberated in their empty bellies, God fed them with manna from heaven, a picture of our Lord Jesus Christ. God taught them through this hardship that physical food is important, but His Word is vital.

And Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14).

Surely He experienced hunger when He walked this earth, but “in Him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4).

God can allow us to hunger in a physical, emotional, or even spiritual sense. We might wonder what’s going on:

Why do we have to endure this physical trial? Why must we feel so awful inside? Why aren’t we being fed spiritually?

Life can be full of questions. During those periods, we must remember God is in control. He is sovereign. He has a plan that results in good.

Our part is to trust and wait. Wait and trust. Keep our eyes on the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave His very lifeblood to secure our eternal life. Even though earthly life involves troubles and trials, everlasting joy and eternal peace awaits those of us who know Christ as Savior.

Do you know Him? He came to give you life, which is yours by faith in the Person and work of Jesus Christ.

I can’t imagine life without God. He’s my Father, my Friend, and my Rock. My Savior, my Shepherd, and the Lover of my soul. My comfort, my hope, and my peace.

The Lord is my everything.

Whatever difficulties you face, God knows. In the midst of your suffering and sorrow, He cares. He will carry your burden.

Yet we struggle to release our issues and our circumstances, don’t we? Even so, God waits patiently, knowing His strength is sufficient for anything and everything. Let’s lift our hands to Him today. Let’s tell Him,

Here it is, Father. All my stuff—my worries, my heartaches, my trials, and more. Take it. Replace my anxiety with Your joy. Thank You! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Life is so much more than what we see with our eyes or feel with our touch—it exceeds our earthly existence…

Life is found in Christ, who helps us endure our trials and gives us hope for the future. #Life #Hope #Trials Share on X

Jesus is coming soon, dear ones. Take heart because “the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us” (Romans 8:18).

Though our paths include rocks and mud and unexpected hazards, our Shepherd will lead us home in safety. He holds our hands and will never let go.
