“Delight yourself in the LORD; And He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4, NASB
Loving Father,
Thoughts of my children fill my heart as I consider what to pray. Worldliness beckons all around, boldly declaring its “worth.” Evil circles, stalking my children like an animal pursuing prey. Options to live for self abound in our narcissistic society.
Yet You are there.
As my children navigate their way through life, You are there. As they face temptation and opposition, You are there. As they seek meaning and purpose, You are there. Stronger. Mightier. Victorious! Because they’ve placed their faith in Christ, YOU walk with them, strengthen them, and protect them. Oh, I’m so grateful for this truth.
Teach me to trust You more with my children’s best interests—to rest in the knowledge that You’ve entrusted them to my husband and me for a little while, but ultimately, they belong to You.
Grant me wisdom and freedom from fear as I parent my children. (Click to tweet)
Enable me as a mom to put You and Your will first in all things.
Shape my children into people who love You passionately, serve You tirelessly, and worship You repeatedly. (Click to tweet)
Lead my children in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake.*
In Jesus’ Mighty Name,
Amen.
*Psalm 23:3
Amen! Thank you for this powerful prayer that I can pray along with you and many other mamas out there.
You’re welcome, dear Holly. To God be the glory! Thanks for joining me in this prayer. I’m so thankful for the privilege of praying for our children. Love you!
In Christ,
Emily
