Ministry Update: Journey Magazine & Seeking An Agent

“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.” 3 John 2, NASB

Dear Readers,

The sun is shining and the sky boasts a beautiful shade of blue. I’m thinking of you as I write, hoping you’re doing well and growing in your relationship with the Lord. How wonderful that for as long as we live on earth, we always can develop a deeper closeness with Him.

Lots has happened since last month. I signed my first contract with Lifeway Christian Resources to write for their women’s devotion, Journey. Before mailing the document, I tried to soak in reality by staring at their name printed in ink. Amazing! Truly, God has done this. Now, I need to accomplish my part and get to work–my first assignment of four devotions is due May 1. Hopefully I can start on this project today.

Another exciting bit of news is that I’ve been in touch with an agent. While nothing formal has been agreed, he’s given me the opportunity to revise my material and re-submit it to him. I’ve rewritten as the Holy Spirit directed and sent the new material to my editor. After her feedback, which I pray is favorable, I plan to forward these sample devotions to the agent. What an adventure!

Please pray with me:

1) For the Holy Spirit’s leading as I write–especially as I seek to fulfill this additional responsibility of writing for Journey.

2) For God’s favor with this agent–that he’ll be thrilled with the revised material and agree to represent me … then, that he’ll find a publisher for my book :).

Thank you so much for your continued support and prayers. May our loving Father fill you with fresh awareness of His incredible love for you … may you experience Christ’s nearness in a special way this Easter.

Much love in Christ,

Emily
