Dear Friends,
Just recently I acknowledged my fear to the Lord. As I prayed I said, “I am afraid.” It’s crazy how we can overlook the importance of articulating something so simple. Like, for years we can miss the truth that in various circumstances, we’re afraid.
And how does God instruct us over and over?
“Do not fear, for I am with you;
Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, surely I will help you,
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
So many Bible verses contain the command, “Do not fear.”
Yet in our human frailty, we often revert to fear. It’s familiar, and we don’t know how to break free. God understands our weakness, however, patiently untangling our hearts from the fears we recognize. He even works to deliver us from fears embedded within … fears we don’t see.
Our God is ever gracious and kind.
Let’s trust the Lord to work in us as we pray. He is able! Because in CHRIST, our desires for confidence, boldness, and victory over fear are realized. Amen.
