HEALER, FAITH, SOMETHING NEW, & MORE

Christians need to act on God's Word in faith to fully benefit from all the Lord offers. #faith #spiritualgrowth Share on X

Dear Readers,

Happy fall! Have you sipped on a pumpkin spice latte yet? I’ve been wanting one this year, which is kind of a new thing for me 🙂. But really, coffee is irrelevant except it seemed fitting to mention since autumn officially has arrived.

So I sat down the other day to work on my October schedule. Surprisingly, my planner ended up getting filled with lots of plans and new direction from the Lord. I’m excited to share this information and more with you today…

The Glory of Jesus: Healer

“And when He saw them, He said to them, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ And it came about that as they were going, they were cleansed.” (Luke 17:14, NASB).

This morning I started working through Grateful: Giving Thanks to God in All Things. And I enjoyed it so much! In particular, reading the account of Jesus healing the ten lepers granted a marvelous glimpse of the Lord.

The lepers cried out for mercy, and in an instant, the Lord initiated healing… such a compassionate heart! Yet the men had to follow His instructions in faith before anything happened. In other words, Jesus possessed a healing touch all along, but the people were required to respond in faith in order to receive it.

Isn’t that interesting? God holds mercy in His heart. At the same time, we as Christians need to act on His Word in faith to fully benefit from all the Lord offers. Though we don’t know God’s will in every situation we face, we can rest in understanding that JESUS is the answer in some way Every. Single. Time.

Indestructible Life

Season 3 has wrapped up after taking a look at various Psalms and other Scripture passages. Sometimes I hear encouraging feedback from listeners, which always fills me with joy. God be praised!

Lord willing, Season 4 will feature lessons from my Bible study, “Traits of a Godly Woman.” This is scheduled to begin on October 12, and I’d love for you to join me. Please invite your friends, too. You can even make this a small group study because I plan to offer discussion questions for each lesson on my website’s Free Resources page.

Also, I’ve added a video format to my podcast messages. If you prefer to watch on YouTube rather than using a podcast app, please do! It will be great to have you whichever way you choose to tune in. As always, thank you for supporting Indestructible Life by praying, sharing, and following.

Book Proposals

My Acts Bible study has been rejected by the agents and publishers to whom I submitted my proposal. Now I need to continue writing in obedience to the Lord, and I plan to submit my proposal to smaller publishing houses as the Holy Spirit leads. Thank you for your prayers.

As for my Portraits of Prayer proposal, I remain waiting to hear back from the publisher who requested it. May God grant this study favor.

Blog Changes

God has led me to something new for Heart Stirrings, and I’m looking forward to this variation. On November 7, I plan to begin a series titled, “Preparing the Bride.” This will include spiritual growth topics such as holiness, faithfulness, watchfulness, and more.

Please look for my ministry update every other month, and on the months in between, please expect a post from this series. I pray this material will bless each of us, drawing us closer to the Lord and making us more like Him.

Instagram Live

Yesterday I tried my first IG Live video, and it was quite amusing in some ways. Oh my, the learning curve—I’m not a huge fan of recording live. Yet God is able! And starting tomorrow, October 4, I’m planning to share weekly devotional messages throughout the month at 12pm. If you’re free to watch, please join me! To God be the glory.

Lifeway Women IG Live

If you’re on Instagram, please tune in to Lifeway Women on November 7 at 12pm! Because God has provided an amazing opportunity to share a devotional message in relation to the lesson I wrote in Grateful: Giving Thanks to God in All Things. I’d love to have your prayers and presence.

Until Next Time

Jesus, our healer, loves you. May His gentle, restorative touch change your life today.

  1. Amen Ms. Emily. Do we write to impact one person or one million? My job isn’t to determine the outcome, but to obey. As writers, we all want to see our books displayed at Barnes & Noble. We want to open The New York Times and see our name atop the Bestsellers list. We want the Pulitzer folks to somehow justify and validate us. The keyword there is “We.” Too often we focus on what we want rather than what God wants. I’ve taken the approach of, “My job is to obey His calling and write it. What He does with it is His business.” For me, it helps me find my joy in writing again and it honors God be acknowledging that He is in control and is using me for His purpose. God’s blessings young lady. Can’t want to see the new blog series unfolding.

    1. Thank you, J.D., for sharing your thoughts and wisdom. I agree, our writing always needs to be for God’s purposes and glory. Though I’ve focused too many times on getting a traditional publisher, God has still allowed me to write and speak for Him. I am grateful.

      Blessings to you in Christ,
      Emily
