PEACE, LIFEWAY, BRMCWC, & MORE

Dear Readers,

Since I shared my HUGE Announcement a couple weeks ago, I hope this update isn’t a let-down 🙂. But actually, writing involves constant work. Whether I’m completing assignments, meeting deadlines, preparing for a speaking engagement, or something else, the Lord fills my calendar with many responsibilities. And it’s a privilege to share these stepping stones with you. Thank you for being here…

THE GLORY OF JESUS: PEACE

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful” (John 14:27, NASB).

In these days of turmoil and uncertainty, JESUS is our peace. He isn’t troubled by world events or ruffled by earth’s chaos. He looks down on mankind’s activities and bides His time until He comes to make everything right. What a day that will be!

JESUS also looks down on you and me, interceding for us and holding us close to His heart. He’s ever mindful of each of our situations, and He cares deeply. He loves us. He provides for us. And in Him, we possess every spiritual blessing that no one or nothing can ever take away.

Are you at peace? Certain situations rattle me, so I need this reminder, too: Let’s lean on JESUS, our peace today and for all eternity. Trust Him. Rest in Him. And delight in the peace He alone gives.

JOURNEY

By God’s goodness and grace, I submitted seven Journey devotions yesterday. It always feels great to push that ‘Send’ button—relief fills me every time. This was my first assignment written according to new specifications (the magazine is transitioning into a quarterly publication rather than monthly). And I let my editor know: I love the new format! It’s simple, direct, and focused on God plus His Word. Please join me in praying the Lord will continue to use Journey Magazine for women’s spiritual growth, drawing women closer to Him.

HOMELIFE

God opened the door for one of my articles to be included in this month’s HomeLife Magazine. Funny enough, I sat on my bedroom floor the other day and read it in its entirety. I love how God speaks to me through the words He gives me to write—it’s an interesting experience. May He also use this message, “Open Your Eyes,” to minister to every reader. I praise Him for this opportunity to touch people’s hearts for Him!

A BOOK PROPOSAL

Now that I’ve completed my Journey devotions, I plan to focus on proposal writing for my Bible study on Acts. Thankfully, I can use previously written proposals for basic information, but I’ll still need to write new portions. Please pray for the Spirit’s leading as I labor on this not-fun but necessary task. Hey, maybe you can even pray I’ll enjoy writing it—that would be a wonderful blessing! Thank you so much.

BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAINS CHRISTIAN WRITERS CONFERENCE

The writers conference I’ve attended for years is accepting faculty proposals, and I’m praying about submitting one for a few classes. I’ve aspired to do this for a while, and I loved encouraging writers as a faculty member at the Asheville Christian Writers Conference in 2017. Please pray for God to clarify His will for me in this matter.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

I know this indicates age, but truly, don’t you just feel like time is speeding past? How wonderful to belong to the eternal God who dwells outside time … who created time. Until He brings us together again, may His presence fill your heart with joy and peace.
