You might wonder why I’m sending out this special post. Well, today is the last day to register for the Connecting with Christ Conference at the $39 price. We won’t turn you away, of course, if you show up at Hickory Christian Academy on April 8-9 to pay $49. But hey, $10 is $10—maybe a couple of Starbucks coffees with a friend, a new accessory for your wardrobe, or a cute pair of sandals if you’re a really thrifty shopper 🙂 . And if you want to come but finances prevent you, I have two scholarships left (courtesy of Foothills Church). They’re first come first serve, so please contact me asap. I’ll be so glad to write your name on one of them.
I’d LOVE for you to attend this event, but maybe you feel like you don’t have time. I definitely can relate, and perhaps the Lord has this weekend set aside for you just to rest. If not, however, why should you come? I believe the CCC will be a spiritual investment in your relationship with God. The Bible is so powerful and life-changing. He has wonderful things in store for us because His Word never returns void (Is. 55:11). Which means He won’t let you down. If you attend this gathering, He will nourish you. He will meet with you. He will draw near to you as you draw near to Him (James 4:8).
Plus, did I mention? Worship will be led by Joy Tilton, whom God has incredibly gifted with a heart for worship. Yes, she sings quite beautifully, but her love for the Lord will inspire you to worship our great God. Additionally, none other than Cindy Clontz will be preparing our food, and that can be summed up in one word: YUM! We also have the immense privilege of learning from Hannah Rogers (for ages 13-21) and Jackie Perry (for moms and mentors). They will offer workshops to equip us in practical ways. We’ll even be blessed by a message, “Being Joyful Always,” by Katie Arensman. Her sincerity and transparency surely will touch us. Add all this to three sessions on God’s Character along with Christian fellowship, and we’ll be filled up.
