Prayer Partners: I Cry Out

“Bring my soul out of prison, So that I may give thanks to Thy name; The righteous will surround me, For Thou wilt deal bountifully with me.” Ps. 142:7, NASB

 Gracious, Compassionate, Loving Father,

Your eyes dwell on us–tenderly, knowingly–at all times. Seeing us in every moment, You always care. Oh, how grateful I am for Your constant, vigilant love.

With heaviness of heart, I bow before You on _____’s behalf. This dear one has undergone so much, Father, and I sorrow with him/her. I lift _____ up before Your welcoming throne of grace, beseeching You to heal his/her wounds. They’re deep. They’re invasive. They’re festering. And these painful issues continue to torment … they imprison my friend, keeping him/her locked out of fully enjoying every spiritual blessing in Christ.

In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray for _____, that he/she would be set free! Please remove the evil one’s insidious influence–the way he deceives and abuses and ensnares my friend. Oh Father, please open _____’s eyes. Allow him/her to clearly see the enemy’s deceptions. Enable him/her to stand firm, to resist so the devil will flee.

You, God, remain _____’s Lord. You’ve purchased him/her with Your precious blood … and You hold all power over depression, insecurity, discouragement, and despair. You are the God of victory! I cry out because my friend is weak. He/she has fallen into that slimy pit of gut-wrenching sorrows. Blinded by untruths, _____ can’t escape in his/her own strength. You are the God who rescues!

Restore _____, deal bountifully with my friend, that he/she might resoundingly offer thanks unto Your matchless name.

‘Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Thy faithfulness, in Thy righteousness … I trust in Thee…’ (Ps. 143:1, 8)

In the name of Your beloved Son, Jesus, Amen.
