Loving Father in heaven,
It’s been busy today … I’m just now sitting, reflecting, and appreciating. What a privilege this morning was–to worship You with Your people. Your excellence, magnificence, and everlasting love continually capture my heart. Daily You give good gifts. Daily You bless. Daily You teach. I confess my tendency to miss Your activity because I become so involved in my own. Cherishing this moment’s stillness, I thank YOU for:
- Today’s sunshine and blue skies
- My children’s smiles … their laughter and zest for life
- My husband’s constancy–his endearing love and the quiet knowing we have of each other
- The body of Christ
Yes, Father, thank You for creating Christ’s body, His representation on earth, out of ordinary people. In wisdom You’ve expertly joined us. Purposely You’ve placed us side by side to fulfill Your plans. Because we need each other, You’ve made us family in Christ–to love, encourage, and challenge one another.
One another. We’re not alone. As our Head, You provide direction and enable us to function together properly.
Thank You for sweet times of fellowship with each other–Your Holy Spirit connection that unites our hearts. Sharing our lives, expressing our needs, weeping and rejoicing … we gratefully acknowledge the fulness You’ve added to our lives by making us a body. Please grant us greater understanding of the strength we possess when we stand in unity. Please help us forgive past offenses, pursue peace, and reach for reconciliation.
The world sees us. May they see YOU and Your love in us. Despite our weaknesses, please perfect us in unity. It truly does speak louder than words.
In Jesus’ Mighty name, Amen.
