Father,
It’s quiet, still. I come to You in morning darkness, knowing You dwell in unapproachable light. You’re near … here … listening to my prayer. You’re glorious and majestic, faithful and true. I long to see Your face, for in You my hopes and dreams reside. Worthy forever, You fill eternity with everlasting love and goodness.
YOU. ARE. Gracious, glorious, merciful, forgiving. Tenderhearted, righteous, kind, and compassionate. Holiness emanates from You. Great God in heaven, there’s none like You.
I confess my busyness with things of this world–activities without lasting value. Please enable me to capture today’s moments in a meaningful way. Help me to evaluate and re-organize my priorities as You deem best, that I might more fully learn of You and walk in Your ways. Thank You, Father, for faithfully sanctifying me. Tremendous work still needs doing, yet You consistently, persistently, lovingly conform me to Christ’s image. Unbelievable–You’re preparing me for Your presence. And I can’t wait!
Devoted to You: my heart’s desire and declaration in beginning this new year. Recognizing Your worthiness of my ALL, I dedicate myself to You anew. Cleanse me, shape me, fill me, use me … grant me Christlike love and passionate purpose. Motivate my every thought, word, and deed by Your love. Pour Your Spirit afresh upon my life–flow through me–as I meditate on Your Word and fellowship with You in prayer. It’s You God, You alone, whom I serve. Joyfully, humbly, gratefully I choose You to lead me. I love You because You first loved me.
In Jesus’ precious, exalted name, Amen.
