Dear Friend,
This poem has repeatedly come to mind over the last few days as I’ve been sick with a virus. Originally written for a dear friend of mine as she recovered in the hospital, the Lord is comforting me now with its reminder. Thought I would share with you …
“Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 40:10
HOLDING
Holding you is what I’ve done
Throughout eternity
I formed you in My mind and heart
Before I formed your body…
I hold you as a mother
Who gently wipes your tears away
I hold you as a father
Who protects you every day…
I hold you as a husband
In My comforting embrace
You rest your head upon Me
Your trust in Me you place…
I hold you with My tender look
I hold you with My smile
I’ll hold you when the world goes wrong
I’ll hold you all the while…
Can’t you see, My precious child?
You mean so much to Me!
To you I gave My beloved Son
Who died and lives to set you free…
I Am your Everlasting Father
I Am your Prince of Peace
I Am your Wonderful Counselor
Who I Am will never cease!
Don’t question My love for you
You’re the apple of My eye
My chosen, holy, beloved one
My daughter and My bride…
I will keep on holding you
Throughout eternity
Always in My nail-scarred hand
You’ll be held by Me.
