Heart Stirrings: A FREE GIFT + DIRECTION & IMPACT
Dear Readers,
Knowing which way to go surely helps. For instance, as my daughter and I headed home from Boone yesterday, I assumed I knew the way. After all, we’d just driven up—couldn’t I handle the return without Google Maps? Evidently not. Because partway home, I looked around and said, “Chloe, this doesn’t look familiar. We didn’t come this way.” We’d been so busy chatting, plus I assumed I knew where to go, but we found ourselves on the wrong road. Oops. Chloe then recalled a turn I’d made on our travel to Boone that I failed to make upon leaving Boone. Happily we weren’t too far out of the way, so I followed the directions and arrived home with fun memories (and extra time with my girl).

God has provided some ministry direction since last month’s update, for which I’m so grateful. Part of His guidance has included the realization that I yearn to practice effective ministry more than anything else—even more than getting a Bible study traditionally published. I want to impact women’s lives for Christ as God intends. Following the Lord’s direction will get me home, knowing I accomplished what He called me to do in this world.
Please read on for details…
THE GLORY OF JESUS: REFUGE
“And the LORD roars from Zion And utters His voice from Jerusalem, And the heavens and the earth tremble. But the LORD is a refuge for His people And a stronghold to the sons of Israel” (Joel 3:16, NASB).
A day of judgment is coming, the likes of which no one has ever seen. Everyone who dwells on earth will experience the unspeakable outpouring of God’s wrath, and some of those who will undergo this seven-year Tribulation will be from the nation of Israel, God’s chosen people.
During this time the LORD will open the eyes of certain Jews, enabling them to realize Who JESUS is: the Son of God, their Messiah. Finally, they’ll believe in Christ and receive eternal life. Even so, they’ll continue to suffer in the Tribulation, but the LORD will be their refuge. HE will sustain and provide for them in the midst of horrific circumstances. Praise His Holy name.
All who have received Jesus as Savior now, however, will be spared from the Tribulation. JESUS is coming to rapture the church, the bride of Christ, before this time begins. Hallelujah!
Though we might think things are pretty awful in the world these days, let’s hold onto the truth of the LORD being our refuge right here and right now. He is faithful! He is true. And He will never let us go.
THANK YOU
Heartfelt thanks to those of you who filled out my survey—your input helped me arrive at important decisions. I appreciate you SO much!
MINISTRY NAME + NEW TAG LINE
Since last month, God reminded me of the time He impressed the name of this ministry on my heart. I remember where I was standing. I remember the lighting in the room. And I’m assured it’s the name to keep. From your input and the Spirit’s reminder, it also occurred to me how the current name perfectly encompasses my various ministries of creating videos, writing articles, and blogging—these are the primary methods I employ in Proclaiming Him to Women.
Even though my ministry name remains the same, the Lord provided a new tag line to accompany it. While I love “Stirring Hearts Toward JESUS,” this new one is more specific: KNOW ~ LOVE ~ IMITATE. Proclaiming Him to Women helps women know, love, and imitate JESUS.
All that being said, I have named my blog, Heart Stirrings, which adequately describes my goal for this aspect of ministry. It’s where I put my heart on “paper” with hopes of stirring your heart toward JESUS.
Thanks for your valuable prayers!
BI-MONTHLY BLOG POSTS … YES!
In September I plan to resume writing a blog post every fourth Tuesday, which will enable me to inspire you with God’s Word more often. It will also serve as an outreach to more women. After a few months, however, I’ll re-evaluate whether these Heart Stirrings posts generate much impact. If it appears they’re not very effective, I might return to monthly posts in order to focus on more effective ministry areas.

AN EDITOR’S RESPONSE
Nothing. I haven’t heard anything even after following up again a few days ago. And unfortunately, I’ve learned that silence often equals “no” in the writing industry. While this sounds sad and discouraging, I’m really okay. Perhaps I’ll hear something in the future, but for now I accept this closed door as God’s direction.
UNTIL NEXT TIME
What direction is God leading you regarding family, church, work, or other? Please share in the comment section about His guidance in your life. Your words are encouraging!
Let’s also celebrate what our awesome God has done for each of us who belong to Him: “For He delivered us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins” (Colossians 1:13-14).
In Christ’s Love,
Check out this Got Questions post for more information about Christ’s return for His bride: What Is the Rapture of the Church?
Even when the “No’s” come, God is still saying “Yes” when we follow His leading in our lives. Will keep praying sweet friend, as I know you and Mr. Mark are for me. God’s blessings gentle soul.
Oh, thank you for that encouragement, J.D.! You are so right, and the most important thing for each of us is to follow our Lord. He is our good and faithful Shepherd.
In Christ’s Love,
Emily
