God Speaks: Comfort and Strength

Dear Readers,

My day began in the morning’s wee hours as I tossed and turned. Several Bible verses wafted through my mind, and perhaps they’re exactly what you need to hear at this moment. God’s Word comforts and strengthens us as nothing else can.

When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2, NKJV). I felt that overwhelmed feeling, and God reminded me of this verse I read before bed last night.

O send out Thy light and Thy truth, let them lead me… (Psalm 43:3, NASB). I felt unsure of what to do, and the Lord brought this treasure of a verse to mind.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). I felt confused, and God said, Do not lean on your own understanding.

Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand (Isaiah 41:10). I felt like everything was a jumbled mess, and God gently spoke, Do not anxiously look about you.

Wow, all of this occurred before I set my feet on the floor. God is awesome, isn’t He?!

God continued to speak through Steve Brown’s radio minute: “Maybe your dream is God’s dream, too.” Tears watered my eyes.

Then I settled in to read my devotional, Daily Light from the Bible:

I am the LORD: … they shall not be ashamed that wait for me (Romans 5:5, KJV).

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. (Jeremiah 17:7).

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee: because he trusteth in Thee. Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength (Isaiah 26:3-4).

Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul… (Hebrews 6:19).

God flooded me with His Word!

Finally, I read Genesis 16, and verse 13 caught my attention:

Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, “Thou art a God who sees.”

God sees me, and He sees you, dear one. May His Word comfort and strengthen you—At. This. Moment.

In Christ’s Love,
