Ministry Update: Gifts Galore

“My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.” Ps. 121:2, NASB

Dear Readers,

This is it! The week has arrived. My bags are packed. I’ll soon find myself in another country, surrounded by people whose language and culture differs from mine. Faithfully, God has brought me every step of the way. I know that even now, He continues to walk before, beside, and behind me. It’s difficult to express the magnitude of my gratitude for all He’s accomplished on my behalf in preparation for this journey.

Gift #1: Prayer

Words fail to convey the depth of peace I’m presently experiencing. The prayers of God’s people are extraordinarily powerful. The thoughts you’ve uttered at the throne of grace and the care with which you’ve spoken to our heavenly Father indeed have accomplished much. Thank you. Please keep them coming because the time to pour out what the Spirit has poured into me draws near.

Gift #2: Funds above and beyond

Yes, you read that correctly—I’m fully funded and then some! I praise the Lord for His generosity expressed through you and others in Christ’s body. Thank you for every donation and every prayer that has accompanied your desire to partner with me. To God be the glory!

Gift #3: I’m SO excited!

A good portion of my trip preparation has been filled with fear, anxieties, and a reluctance to leave the comforts of home. Yet God graciously intervened. While driving home from our last mission meeting, I received a most welcome gift. Like an unseen hand reaching into my heart, God was pleased to impart the gift of excitement. And I took it! From that moment forward, I’ve been filled with the joyful anticipation of ministering to women and the spiritual fruit that will flourish as the Spirit labors in their hearts.

Gift #4: A gift for God’s purposes

The Lord has reminded me that He’s deposited a spiritual gift within me. For a purpose. This gift of teaching isn’t intended for my own pleasure although I do love teaching the Bible and sharing Christ. This gift has been entrusted to me according to God’s design for His pleasure. He’s sending me to Nicaragua to proclaim Him so others might know Him to begin with or know Him more deeply. None of this is my doing. It’s all because of Christ! What a wondrous Lord and  Savior we have. And even though I’m not the most fantastic Bible teacher out there, that’s okay. Because this is about God—not me. Keeping my eyes on Him fills me with confidence because my “adequacy is from God” (2 Cor. 3:5).

The Greatest Gift

Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers. I look forward to communicating God’s incredible work in Nicaragua upon my return—please expect my next post on March 28 or soon thereafter. I’ll try to stay in touch while I’m away via my Facebook page and Instagram. I hope you’ll check in from time to time to read updates.

May the Majestic One be first in our hearts today and always. May we see God working in and around us … through us. May we love God and love others, knowing “love never fails” (1 Cor. 13:8).

Blessings to you in Christ, dear friends. HE is our greatest gift.
