“Let me hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in Thee; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to Thee I lift up my soul.” Psalm 143:8, Nasb
Here I am, Lord. Empty. Waiting for You to fill me up so I can fulfill Your plans.
Raindrops splash outside my window, rippling the pond. Water trickles down the drain pipe, lending a constant sound. Birds chirp in the distance, adding their voices to morning’s splendor.
What are Your plans? I wonder, as I consider Your marvelous touch. The day stretches before me though the list in my mind and on my calendar presses upon me.
But, You.
Just as Your creativity colors the dawn, what unexpected delights will sweeten this 24-hour moment in history? It’s here and now. It will never come again. I can never recapture or relive this snapshot in time.
I long to be all here—to experience the minutes and hours with my loved ones, truly embracing their presence and walking alongside them. I’m weary of gazing at tomorrow when every today holds so much promise. Let me be present.
I yearn to peer beneath the surface—to comprehend what You’ve hidden in the ordinary. Father! Let me discover Your treasures.
I seek to leave a mark—to touch people’s hearts for Christ—here and now. Because tomorrow isn’t definite. But today? This air we breathe and the sounds we hear? Everything is laced with Your fingerprints and the residue of Your love. Even me. Let me be Your vessel, spilling Your refreshment onto those You bring my way.
I love You, O LORD my strength. Giver of life, planner of days, and lover of my soul, I worship You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
