“By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.” 1 John 4:9, NASB
Loving Father in heaven,
It’s been a busy day–the plans I formed were set aside for plans You possessed. And it is good.
I didn’t have time. Other responsibilities weighed on me. But You gently led me to stay–to help a loved one in need. To show love by doing … to enjoy time together. Thank You for giving me grace to love today.
Now I’m smiling. My heart treasures Your joy in return for this small act of obedience. Thank You.
I’m grateful You’re teaching me how to live–to follow the Spirit’s leading and fulfill Your heart’s desire, not mine. For when I’m left to myself, life easily revolves around my wants and needs … my interests and responsibilities. But You? You’re interested in people, and You’re showing me that others should be at the top of my list too. Because without loving and being loved, life is empty.
I long to be FULL–filled to overflowing with Your goodness, Your generosity, Your kindness. Your love. The more I come to know You and seek to walk in Your ways, You teach me how to LOVE.
Lord, You. Are. Love. Exquisite, majestic, and eternal, You exceed my grandest imaginations. How can it be You’re interested in me?
Yet You are. And as You teach me to love like You, I’m learning to live.
In Jesus’ magnificent name, Amen.
Beautiful!
Thank you, dear Jenny! To God be the glory for His beautiful character and wonderful ways.
Love you,
Emily
