Dear Readers,

God’s unparalleled greatness exceeds comprehension. He’s more exquisite, more holy, more loving than we can grasp—the word, awesome, aptly describes Him. But amazingly, God welcomes us into His presence. Though He rightfully could demand worship only, He invites us to pour out our hearts trustingly, to fellowship intimately with Him.

  • “Trust in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:8).
  • “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

God never disappoints when I meet with Him in prayer, drawing near every time I draw near to Him. Yet He’s creative—His coming close doesn’t always look the same. Sometimes He reminds me of a Bible verse that addresses a present need. Other times I sense gentle reassurances of His love. And then there are times I’m overwhelmed by His majesty, His magnificence, His splendor, His holiness. An instance like that inspired my prayer below.

Have you met with the living God today … adored Him, talked with Him? Come—please join me in kneeling before His throne of grace. HE is breathtaking.

Awed by Him,

ENRAPTURED BY YOU

Kneeling before Your throne

Treasuring time alone

With You—the One True God

Faithfully You draw near…

Awakening, engulfing me,

Your splendor illuminates

God Most High—El Elyon,

I’m enraptured by You.

Thoughts elude, words fail, whispers form…

I crave more knowledge of You

That worship might freely flow

To Jesus—Savior, Lord!

Majestic and magnificent,

Eternally exquisite

Lavish Love, piercing Light … Life!

I’m enraptured by You.

Surrounding me, embracing me

Your presence awes, captivates

El-Shaddai, All-Sufficient One,

I’m enraptured by You.

“… In Thy presence is fulness of joy; In Thy right hand there are pleasures forever” (Psalm 16:11).
