“But you are … A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Pet. 2:9, NASB
An ordinary woman … Saved by grace through faith in Christ … Beloved of God.
I grew up in Northern Virginia as the youngest daughter of Christian parents, and I started college in 1987 at Virginia Tech. I met my future husband, Mark, at Intervarsity Christian Fellowship before classes even began. Married since October 7, 1989, God has blessed us with four children, a daughter-in-love, and a home in North Carolina. He is so good.
As a women’s ministry leader from 2001-2004, I realized my love for teaching the Bible. God prompted me to write Reaching for Righteousness: Life Applications from the Book of Esther (Pleasant Word, April 2009), which is now available in Spanish. God is using Alcanzando la Justicia in Central America, Mexico, and the United States.
God has enabled me to minister in various ways such as directing retreats, facilitating small groups, teaching, and sharing radio devotions. I’ve hosted and taught at the Connecting with Christ Conference, and I traveled with a ZMI Family Ministries International team to Nicaragua, where I introduced Alcanzando la Justicia. I wrote “Recipes for Life” for Sophie Woman’s Magazine from January 2012 – August 2016, connecting favorite recipes to life stories and spiritual truths.
I currently teach at the Embrace Bible Study Community, grateful to the Lord and to my pastors at Vertical Life Church for this opportunity to impact women’s lives for Christ. I also write for LifeWay’s Journey Devotional Magazine.
Through Proclaiming Him to Women Ministries, I aim to impact:
- Women who love JESUS, value Scripture, and pursue intimacy with God
- Writers who use their talents to write for the Lord
I invite you to check out my blog devotions and “Devotions for Women” videos, which will help you apply Scripture to everyday life. If you’re a writer, my interview posts on Writers Connect will inform and equip you.
Thanks for taking time to learn more about me and my ministry. “May the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ” (2 Thessalonians 3:5).
