Ministry Update: I’m SO Excited … Can’t Wait to Share!

“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21, Nasb

Dear Readers,

Occasionally, unexpected joy descends like a burst of light from heaven to earth. This past Thursday—despite the downpour of rain—contained one such joy for me.

I traveled to Thomasville, NC, to meet with Brenda Lancaster, founder of ZMI Family Ministries International. I thought our conversation would last about 1 1/2 hours, but as Brenda updated me on God’s work through ZMI, time evaporated. I was thrilled to hear about the women in Nicaragua, Honduras, and other countries who hunger for God’s Word … about the woman who wept years ago when Brenda gave her Tomar de Regreso la Familia (Taking Back the Family, formerly Living in a Zoo?). God had impressed on this sister’s heart that He’d provide spiritual material for women in her country. She waited months. Until one day, God sent Brenda with her newly translated Bible study.

Brenda and I discussed many more ministry happenings, but I’ll admit, it excited me most when she expressed interest in using my book, Alcanzando la Justicia (Reaching for Righteousness), as part of their program. If the Lord continues to lead this direction, ZMI will need 200 copies of my book in the near future!

We shouldn’t wonder if God’s at work—just pray for eyes to see and willing hearts to participate. (Click to Tweet)

As if this wasn’t enough, Brenda proceeded to invite me to Nicaragua on ZMI’s spring 2017 trip. It still feels a bit surreal: Me? Nicaragua? Speaking at women’s conferences in a foreign land?

I felt chosen when so often, I’ve felt insignificant in my calling to write and teach. (Click to Tweet)

And I am insignificant because ministry most definitely is NOT about me. But it was incredibly special to sense God’s purpose for me in a place I never seriously considered. So, I’m praying about whether to accept Brenda’s invitation, which somewhat scares me along with all the excitement. Please join me in praying for God’s will to be done. Thank you so much.

In other news, I plan to revise and submit my book proposal by the end of July. (If you think of me, please pray. I have lots to accomplish in order to complete this goal.) Also, I’m scheduled to teach a co-op class to teen girls this fall—a Bible study entitled, Wonderers & Wanderers: Becoming a Biblical Woman. This will require significant preparation before the end of August, which already looms on the horizon. Finally, I hope to branch out into new writing territory soon, meaning I need to make some schedule adjustments. As I look ahead,

I trust the Lord will provide all that’s needed to accomplish His work. And He will. (Click to Tweet)

Thank you, my dear readers, for sticking with me and lifting me up to the throne of grace. Thank you for supporting this ministry and remaining involved. With God, all things are possible!

Much Love in Christ,

Emily
