“In the beginning God created…” Genesis 1:1, NASB
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Creator of this sky that fascinates me, Painter of its splendid blue, You’re matchless.
Maker of white clouds puffing around, You’re extraordinary in Your ability to design the beautiful.
I’m awed by You.
Breather of wind I cannot see…
I feel and hear its soft caress, its rushing power.
Your Spirit hovered over earth’s vast emptiness before time began. You fabricated every single item out of nothing. You shaped man from dust, and You formed woman from his rib.
You amaze me.
As I contemplate Your handiwork, my mind shifts to the intricacies of spiritual birth. Inside the human heart–in recesses too remote for anyone to see–You work. You shine light. You breathe life. You show mercy to those who deserve death. You extend grace, attracting hearts to Your Son.
Despite the breathtaking beauty of Your physical creation, nothing compares to the exquisite work You accomplish in human hearts.
Thank You, Father, for saving me and making me born again, alive in Christ. You’re worthy of all my praise and devotion, worship and adoration.
Grow my love for You.
Deepen my satisfaction in You.
Strengthen my service for You.
Fill me with compassion and lead me by Your Spirit. Sever my heart from this world’s entertainments–awaken me from slumber. Prepare my hands and supply me with words.
Just as You made me born again, make me faithful until Christ comes.
In Jesus’ magnificent name,
