Dear Readers,
Oh, it’s so good to sit and picture your faces, which brings a smile to mine. I hope you’re enjoying the Lord this week and growing ever closer to Him. I love to imagine Him sitting right next to me as I read His Word and pray. It’s truly amazing that the God of the Universe delights to spend time with His children. We’re blessed beyond words.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” 1 John 3:1, NIV
Perhaps you’ve noticed my updated blog schedule. After thinking it over and praying for God’s guidance, I’ve decided just to post every Tuesday. Topics will vary from week to week, and I’m excited about a new feature: DISCOVERING GOD’S NAMES. His character consists of such depth and richness that many names are used to describe the different facets. I’m looking forward to diving into this study–one name at a time–and discovering more about this beautiful God we love and serve. Please join me on this adventure every fourth Tuesday, expecting to grow closer to HIM.
I’m also gearing up to begin fundraising for Reaching for Righteousness, Spanish edition. I’m so thankful my church, Foothills Church, recently granted permission for donors to make checks payable to it on behalf of this project. This will allow people to make tax-deductible gifts, and I truly appreciate the support of my home congregation. Very soon, I plan to add a detailed fundraiser page to my web site, which will offer the option to give securely online. So … much more to come! I’ll keep you posted about this fantastic opportunity to reach Spanish-speaking women for Christ.
As for other writing, I continue to wait regarding my devotional book. Please pray God will bless me with an agent and a publishing contract. I’m also tossing around an idea for another book, so please pray over that as well. I anticipate more devotion assignments from Journey, plus I’m praying about submitting work to a couple of online magazines/devotions. Messages for my Sophie Woman’s Magazine articles keep coming–I’m amazed! Truly God’s doing.
Finally, I really miss gathering with women like you and teaching the Word. I’m considering a location in Blowing Rock, NC for the next Connecting with Christ Conference, which I’m tentatively planning to host in March 2016. Please tuck that in your memory because I’d love for every single one of you to attend! We’ll see what the Lord has in mind–I pray He’ll confirm these details and move me forward in the planning process.
