Saturday–my day set to minister outside the abortion clinic–quickly approaches. I’m somewhat nervous. Slightly afraid. And feeling unprepared.
But how does one prepare to stand and interact with those intent on destroying life within the womb? A daughter’s womb … girlfriend’s womb … her own womb? The atrocity of what takes place day after day after day makes me cringe. Honestly God has given me compassion for all involved. Generally speaking, the god of this world has blinded them. Yet even some who profess Christ as Savior tragically enter those doors. Irregardless of beliefs, all walk according to the evil one’s desires when they choose to end life. From time’s beginning, satan has sought to destroy life.
I’m walking onto a sidewalk of spiritual battle.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Eph. 6:12, NASB
Overwhelmingly it occurs to me to ask you, dear brothers and sisters in Christ, please go before me in prayer. Pray for my friend and me as we seek to minister by the Holy Spirit’s leading.
praying at the same time for us as well, that God may open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I also have been imprisoned.” Colossians 4:3
I’m completely unaware who will cross our paths this coming Saturday. But God sovereignly knows and already has developed a plan. We just need to be in tune … sensitively listening … actively obeying. I yearn for your prayers that:
nothing would hinder us from going this Saturday, Jan. 18
God will grant us protection, courage, and the ability to speak the truth in love
God will give us His wisdom as we interact and share
people will be saved spiritually and physically
Thank you, oh so much. Together we can battle against an appalling evil. In the process, may God search our hearts and reveal our own hypocrisies … idolatries … sins. Humbly may we recognize that even in places of death, God is a God of life.
“in him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:4-5, ESV
