“But you are … A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Pet. 2:9, NASB
An ordinary woman … Saved by grace through faith in Christ … Beloved of God.
Because of God’s great love for me, I’m passionate about stirring hearts toward Jesus. I teach God’s Word with the firm conviction and personal experience that the Bible is “living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword” (Heb. 4:12).
As a women’s ministry leader from 2001-2004, I realized my love for teaching the Bible. Soon thereafter, God prompted me to write Reaching for Righteousness: Life Applications from the Book of Esther (Pleasant Word, April 2009), which is now available in Spanish. Presently, I write monthly ministry updates and blog posts. I also write Journey devotions and share weekly “Devotions for Women” videos. All of these venues grant me the privileged opportunity to share Christ. He IS faithful!
God has allowed me to minister in various ways such as directing retreats, facilitating small groups, teaching, and sharing radio devotions. My third Connecting with Christ Conference, held in April 2016, provided women the joys of worship, Bible teaching, and fellowship. In March 2017, I traveled with a ZMI Family Ministries International team to Nicaragua, where I introduced Alcanzando la Justicia. My current focus involves coordinating, leading, and teaching a women’s Bible study at Vertical Life Church. It’s scheduled to begin in 2018, so I’m prayerfully seeking the Lord’s guidance regarding the details. Also, I’m writing a Bible study that will serve as a discipleship tool for moms and mentors as well as a guide for young women. As God provides ministry opportunities, I’m thrilled to go where He leads. Women are being reached with God’s truth–all glory to Him for His work in hearts and lives!
On a more personal note, I grew up in Northern Virginia as the youngest daughter of Christian parents. Deeply grateful for my godly heritage, I’m blessed to have learned God’s Word from an early age. Virginia Tech became my college home in 1987, where involvement with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship introduced me to Mark Wickham. Married since October 7, 1989, we enjoy our four children–God’s gifts to us. Enjoying life in North Carolina, we homeschool our daughter while two sons further their education in college. Our eldest son graduated from Liberty University in May, 2017, and he’s engaged to be married in January, 2018.
God has blessed me beyond words. I’m most thankful for His Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Writing and speaking for Him—teaching His Word and impacting women’s lives—fills me with joy.
